Because I love you, I am going to speak to you heart to heart, without
mincing words. I have seen that many times individuals have made great
sacrifices to go to a distant temple. But when a temple is built close
by, within a short time, many do not visit it regularly. I have a
suggestion: When a temple is conveniently nearby, small things may
interrupt your plans to go to the temple. Set specific goals,
considering your circumstances, of when you can and will participate in
temple ordinances. Then do not allow anything to interfere with that
plan. This pattern will guarantee that those who live in the shadow of a
temple will be as blessed as are those who plan far ahead and make a
long trip to the temple" Elder Scott, Temple Worship: The Source of Strength and Power in Times of Need. Ensign May 2009.
“What to me has become a vitally important part of remembering the blessings that come from the temple is that I love my wife more each day.” Elder Scott, 2010 Fireside

"Let us truly be a temple-attending and a temple-loving people….Let us make the temple, with temple worship and temple covenants and temple marriage, our ultimate earthly goal and the supreme mortal experience." President Howard W. Hunter.

“Any work you do in the temple is time well spent, but receiving ordinances vicariously for one of your own ancestors will make the time in the temple more sacred, and even greater blessings will be received. The First Presidency has declared, ‘Our preeminent obligation is to seek out and identify our own ancestors’ (First Presidency letter, Feb. 29, 2012),” said Elder Scott.
"The teachings of the temple are beautifully simple and simply beautiful. They are understood by the humble and they can excite the intellect of the brightest minds." Elder Nelson. Mormon Messages Video: The Blessings of the Temple.
"When we keep the temple covenants we have made and when we live righteously…, we have no reason to worry or to feel despondent." Elder Scott, Temple Worship: The Source of Strength and Powers in Time of Need. April 2009.
"The all-important and crowning blessings of membership in the Church are those blessings which we receive in the temples of God." President Monson. The Holy Temple-- a Beacon to the World. Ensign, May 2011.
"By building their temples … and going forth and receiving all the ordinances … in behalf of all their progenitors who are dead … ; and herein is the chain that binds the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the children to the fathers, which fulfills the mission of Elijah” (Teachings: Joseph Smith, 472–73).
"As we touch the temple and love the temple, our lives will reflect our faith. As we go to the holy house, as we remember the covenants we make therein, we will be able to bear every trial and overcome each temptation. The temple provides purpose for our lives. It brings peace to our souls—not the peace provided by men but the peace promised by the Son of God when He said, 'Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.'" President Monson. Blessings of the Temple. Ensign October 2010.
